7 Practical Ways of Overcoming Fear
“The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”–Nelson Mandela. The act of Overcoming Fear is not so easy. It comes with a lot of self-convictions, and hard work. Fear is one of those human emotions that send chills down your spine. That makes you so weak to your limbs. It consumes you and leaves you so helpless to your own fate. And if you allow it, in due time, its tentacles will penetrate through every fiber of you, and leave you to the shadow of yourself.
The word fear according to Oxford Dictionary it is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.
As humans, at one point in time or another, the spirit of fear tends to hold us back from achieving the things we should achieve. Almost everywhere you look, there are one or more things to make you afraid. To make you doubt yourself and your abilities. To make you cower and shiver like a chicken, which I understand, I have been there a couple of times, in which I doubt myself and the things I know I can do.
At the moment, I don’t know what your fears might be. If it might be the fear of failure. Or the fear of never finding happiness? Perhaps, it’s the fear of never finding your purpose? Could it be the fear of never being successful the way you want to be? Maybe it is the fear of not finding the right partner for yourself? Or is it the fear of the unknown? What are you so afraid of?
While I leave you pondering on the above, below are Practical ways of Overcoming Fear.

A lot of times, you are filled with the fear of doing a particular thing. But you tell yourself that you are not afraid. You give yourself excuses as to why you cannot do a particular thing. You blame it on perhaps your family background, or the economy of your country, or on you not having enough time. Whereas, a lot of times you are just so afraid of taking the first step. You need to stop blaming this, and that for reasons why you are not doing the things you need to do. And acknowledge that you are filled with fear. Therefore, acknowledging your fears would be a step towards you helping yourself to overcome your fears.
